Mickoski: Macedonia got the same thing from NATO that we had in 2008, fulfilled criteria, but condition change of name
VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski said that at the NATO Summit the same thing happened in 2008.
- See the situation from 2008 and now. They're saying "settle the dispute with Greece, change the Constitution, change the name," Miskoski pointed out, stressing that Macedonia has not yet received an invitation to join NATO, but will receive it when the Treaty with Greece enters into force.
He says that the conclusions are the same, only now the positions of the Republic of Macedonia are decayed.
- They will need time to repair these positions. That's the difference between 2008 and 2018. There is no significant difference, compare 2008 with 2018, you will see that there is no difference. The same is true with the start of the so-called agreements with the European Union. We got a date to get a date, Mickoski explains.
He pointed out that next year an audit of the progress of the Republic of Macedonia in four key areas will be made, besides the requirement for the dispute with Greece, and then the European Commission will consider the possibility of granting a date. According to him, it could begin at the earliest in December 2019.
- We got a double date. One is in the short term, the other is in the long run, by June, said Mickoski.
