Wild winds and intense storms are slamming Melbourne, causing commuter chaos on some train lines and a messy peak hour commute for motorists..
The Bureau of Meteorology issued a weather warning as damaging winds of nearly 100km/h bash parts of Victoria.
The wind gusts are expected to reach their peak before 4pm and then ease until an intense band of storms moves into the region around 5pm.
"There is a good chance of 90 to 100km/h gusts this afternoon. For some parts of Melbourne it will be the windiest day this year," Senior Weatherzone Meteorologist Brett Dutschke said.
Winds gusts at Melbourne Airport have already exceeded 91km/h, while in Ballarat peaks gusts have exceed 100km/h. In Port Phillip peak wind gusts have exceeded 125km/h.Source: 9news
