A master plan that will guide future upgrades to Lalor Recreation Reserve was endorsed at the City of Whittlesea Council Meeting on Tuesday 16 April.
The master plan includes recommendations for local recreation such as upgraded play spaces, exercise equipment, walking and running paths, and upgraded lighting to improve safety.
There are also recommendations to improve car parking, as well as investigating improvements to the pavilion, including the addition of new public toilets, and retractable weather protection for spectators.
City of Whittlesea Chair Administrator Lydia Wilson said the plan was developed with significant community input.
“We thank everyone for their feedback which has helped shape this master plan. We gathered insights from two rounds of community consultation, and you told us that the priorities were the play space, walking paths, seating, lighting and the look and feel of the entry to the reserve,” Lydia said.
“The master plan addresses these key priorities through a range of recommended upgrades. We’re excited to see Lalor Recreation Reserve continue to be a place for our diverse and growing community to enjoy.”
The master plan outlines high, medium and low priority actions that are subject to funding through Council’s annual capital works program and implemented over 10 years.
